Kav given green light to leave

Former Bluebird Graham Kavanagh could soon be winging his way to Vicarage Road after being told he could leave Sunderland.

Kavanagh joined Sunderland from Wigan last season but has been on the fringes this season and enjoyed a Sheffield Wednesday.

'There are some players that I'd consider going out on loan or moving on if it's right for the player and the club and I've spoken to some of the lads.

'I had a chat with Ross (Wallace), Dave (Connolly), Greg(Halford), Kav (Kavanagh), Hartey (Harte) and Wrighty (Wright) and told them if a club comes in for them this month I'd be prepared to have a chat.

As Dr Watford earlier reported from VitalWatford towers, Kavanagh has a number of Championship suitors rivalling the Golden Boys for his signature.

The availabilty of Ross Wallace and Ian Harte is something Aidy is probably alert to as he searches for left-back to replace/challenge Jordan Stewart.

A double swoop on the cards? Maybe, we await more news...

Ian Harte would be a top signing but I reckon his wages could be a massive stumbling block.

Indeed. Would love to see him, but you're probably looking at 25k+ a week? Surely? Ross Wallace wouldn't be a bad purchase and can play left mid. He only cost the Mackems 500k, so how much would they want? Not much more...
