Man In The Middle: Paul Tierney

Man In The Middle: Paul Tierney
Another insight to the referee for Watford's next fixture, as Paul Tierney is the man in black in a Hornets game for the third time this season, as they visit Dougie Freedman's Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

Tierney has already taken charge of two Hornets games this season, both which included a red card a piece.

The first being in that 3-0 away loss to Norwich in August, where he dismissed Joel Ekstrand in the opening two minutes of the game after apparent face contact on winger Nathan Redmond.

However, the next red card shown by Tierney was in Watford's favour, as he gave Fulham shot stopper, Marcus Bettinelli, an early bath after pulling down Matej Vydra in the area, leading to a penalty and a 5-0 victory for the Golden Boys.

Tierney from Lancashire, hasn't been afraid to send players off this season, in addition to those two red cards, he has dismissed six players overall in the thirty four games were he has taken the reins in, whilst sending a whopping one hundred and twenty-two players into the book.

There is yet to be a game this season where the forty-four year old hasn't shown a yellow card.

Gillingham's 1-0 home win over play-off chasing Bradford in the Sky Bet League One on Saturday was his most recent game, where he sent two players into the book.

Only in one of those thirty-six games where the man from Lancashire has been in charge, it has been goalless.
