Man In The Middle: Andy D'Urso

Man In The Middle: Andy D'Urso
Experienced and long serving referee, Andy D'Urso, has been appointed to take charge of Watford's home clash with Ipswich this Saturday.

D'Urso is coming into this game on the back of another Championship game just a few days ago, as the Hornets' promotion rivals, Middlesbrough, defeated out of form Derby County at the iPro on Tuesday.

In that game, he sent six players into his notebook.

Looking at his record his record for this season, D'Urso from Essex has taken the reins of twenty-nine games this season, with nine of those being in the Championship.

D'Urso has dished out numerous yellow cards in games this season, a combined total of eight-six, with five players being sent to have an early bath.

You'll only have to go back to last season to look at the last Watford game he took charge of, on Boxing Day last season being Beppe Sannino's first home game in charge against Millwall, as the Hornets marched on to secure a 4-0 win, with D'Urso dismissing former golden boy, Danny Shittu of the Lions, and awarding the Hornets two penalties.

However, the man in black isn't too popular with the Watford faithful, as on another Boxing Day fixture, this time in 2009, he ruled out a blatant penalty in the last minute of Watford's home stalemate against Nottingham Forest.
