Opposing View: Blackpool
We spoke to Vital Blackpool`s Jon Pearcy about his club`s recent fortunes ahead of today`s match.

Vital Watford: You started pre season with just a few players contracted to the club - how did this happen?

Jon Pearcy: The main reason for going into pre season with so few players was the managerial unrest at the end of last season, having a caretaker manager in charge since January until the end of the season. Players` contracts were allowed to run down and then poor contract offers were made.

The continued unrest at the club is still playing a big part with the club mainly opting for short-term loan players.

VW: So, what is the overall state of Blackpool FC right now then? You've had an extended period of bad form running back to last winter or even perhaps beyond. Is it a matter of the quality of player at the club or is it something else?

JP: I would probably say that most of our problems at the minute are off the field issues, which have resulted in the continued arguments between supporters and the owners, and the continued amount of loan players and lower quality players coming into the club.

The poor run you speak of has gone on since the loss of Ian Holloway back in 2012, with us spiralling downwards ever since, just missing out on relegation the last couple of years really.

VW: Are you happy with current manager Lee Clark so far?

JP: Lee Clark has done a good job so far under difficult circumstances. He came in after a manager [Jose Riga] was sacked by the board, when no supporters wanted him sacked, due to the lack of investment that he saw.

Lee Clark is seeing the same lack of investment, and has only managed to win two games since taking charge.

VW: What are your expectations now? Can you stay up?

JP: It will be extremely hard for us to stay up this season, the general attitude around the fans is that we have resigned ourselves to League One.

The situation at Blackpool is such that there is even a general boycott of the stadium which in some cases sees paid season ticket holders not attending games. This is having at least some effect as Bloomfield Road falls silent each and every home game.

VW: Going back to on-pitch matters, who are your best players and who should we watch out for tomorrow?

JP: Nathan Delfouneso would probably be my choice for our player to watch. He signed at the beginning of the season from Aston Villa and is one of our only players on a long-term deal. He has been in our strike force since the disappearance of Nile Ranger earlier in the season.

VW: What is your score prediction for today`s game?

JP: I wouldn`t like to put a score line on this game, but I would probably say that it`s a safe bet to say that Watford should be nailed on to win this game.

VW: These are the games that generally don`t end up going to plan for us, so we`ll have to see on that one…!

Thanks very much for talking to us, have a good trip down and I hope the game is a good one.

JP: Hope you enjoy the game and good luck.... Not that you'll need the luck!
