Hornets' Easter loan round-up

Hornets' Easter loan round-up
STRIKER Britt Assombalonga grabbed his 15th goal of the season for Southend United as the Shrimpers warmed up for their trip to Wembley this weekend.

Watford loanee Assombalonga will hope to be involved as the Essex outfit take on Crewe Alexandra in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Sunday.

The DR Congo born frontman scored for Phil Brown's side during their 2-2 draw at Bradford City on Good Friday but the Shrimpers lead a two-goal lead slip to draw.

On Bank Holiday Monday, Assombalonga played the full 90 minutes as United held Fleetwood Town to a 1-1 draw at Roots Hall.

In the Championship, Craig Forsyth has impressed Derby County during his initial month-long loan deal with the Rams, earning an extension until the end of the season.

The Scot made his fifth appearance for Nigel Clough's side during their 2-1 win over Leeds United on Monday, playing 90 minutes.

In League One, Stephen McGinn helped Shrewsbury Town to a 3-0 triumph over Crawley Town, playing 73 minutes before being replaced by Paul Parry.

McGinn had played the full 90 minutes at Carlisle United two days earlier, the match finishing two-apiece.

Elsewhere in the third tier, Chris Iwelumo helped Oldham Athletic to a credible 1-1 draw at high-fliers Swindon on Good Friday.

Iwelumo played the final 14 minutes after coming on as a substitute.

In League Two, Ross Jenkins helped Barnet take a decisive step forward in the battle to avoid dropping out the league as Barnet beat Wimbledon 1-0.

A goal five minutes from time secured a huge win, with Jenkins coming on with a minute to play.

Striker Steve Leo Beleck has not played for Stevenage since March 19 and Lee Hodson has failed to feature for Brentford since February 26.

Piero Mingoia was uninvolved for Boreham Wood as they went down at Sutton United on Monday.

Even Britt?!

I think so.. Maybe last season he may have been good enough.. Not now we have players as good as Deeney, FF & Vydra.. Not to mention hayho (cant spell) Brit isn't even top scorer in the league he's in.. Plus if we do go up.. This season or whenever some people say Deeney's not good enough for the prem.. Why would Brit be any better?? To further his chances he needs to find a league one team and work his way up.. Sitting on our bench (if that) is no good for him.. FF cant even get a regular starting place...

Good points. Guess they'll assess his situation over the summer!
