The Vital Interview: Fernando Forestieri

The Vital Interview: Fernando Forestieri
FERNANDO FORESTIERI is the poster boy for Watford's loanees. He's made it abundantly clear how much he's enjoying life in WD18, he's struck up an instant rapport with the Golden Boys' supporters and in January, he signed on a permanent basis.

For all the criticism of Watford's loan troop, Forestieri is the first of what will hopefully become a number of a success stories.

"It was not a tough decision to join Watford permanently because I was very happy here. It was a natural decision to join permanently," enthuses Forestieri.

After a career which has so far taken him to two of Argentina's biggest clubs - Boca Juniors and Newell's Old Boys - as well as Serie 'A' and La Liga with Malaga, Forestieri is just pleased to settle down in one place:

'I know for five years I am here at Watford, I can understand the town, I can understand the supporters, I can feel the club and everything is more settled down.'

However, the diminutive Argentine admits that whilst moving to Hertfordshire was not a tough decision, his knowlege of the divison was rather less:

"To be honest, I didn`t know anything about English football and the Championship. But, suddenly I felt very happy here and I have enjoyed myself here from the first day."

Forestieri has quickly settled into life at Vicarage Road, and despite playing second-fiddle to Matej Vydra in recent weeks, the 23 year-old is the perfect example of quite how Watford and Gianfranco Zola have and will benefit from being part of the Pozzo family trinity.
