Loan watch: McGinn & Iwelumo score

Stephen McGinn built on his first start in nearly two years of last weekend by grabbing his first Football League goal since November 2010 on Saturday.

The 24 year-old Scottish midfielder scored Shrewsbury Town`s consolation goal in their 2-1 defeat to fifth-placed Sheffield United 2-1 on Saturday.

McGinn was once again part of Graham Turner's starting XI as Shrewsbury went down to Danny Wilson`s Blades at home.

The former St. Mirren man last scored for the Golden Boys in November 2010 as Malky Mackay`s side saw off Ipswich Town 2-1 at Vicarage Road. Marvin Sordell got the other goal.

Elsewhere in League One, Chris Iwelumo got his first goal for his latest club as Oldham Athletic beat MK Dons 3-1.

Iwelumo, starting up front alongside Lee Barnard, got the third for the managerless Latics who beat the Buckinghamshire side but still remain in the League One drop zone.

Stevenage loanee Steve Leo Beleck was substituted in the 13th minute by 'Boro boss Gary Smith, with former Watford 'keeper Chris Day replacing the forward.

First-choice stopper Steve Arnold had to be replaced after being sent-off early in Stevenage`s 2-1 defeat by Carlisle United.

Lee Hodson was once more an unused substitute for Brentford as Uwe Rosler`s Bees drew 2-2 with Bury.

In League Two, Britt Assombalonga stretched his barren spell to nine games as Southend United drew 1-1 at Accrington Stanley.

Assombalonga played 86 minutes before being withdrawn.

Finally, attacking midfielder Piero Mingoia played 76 minutes for Boreham Wood who were held to a goalless draw at home by Bath City.

Aaron Tumwa was not involved for Wealdstone who beat fierce rivals Enfield Town 2-1 in a win which sees Wealdstone fourth in the Ryman League Premier Division.
