Loan watch: McGinn and Beleck feature

Stephen McGinn and Steve Leo Beleck were the only two Watford loanees to feature for their clubs this weekend with Lee Hodson an unused substitute.

McGinn's Shrewsbury Town were held to a 1-1 draw at home by bottom of the league Hartlepool United.

A 65th minute substitute, McGinn replaced Rob Purdie in the centre of midfield.

Also in League One, Beleck started his first match for Stevenage who were beaten 2-1 at home by managerless Doncaster Rovers.

Late goals from Iain Hume and Rob Jones won the tie for Donny after James Dunne had Gary Smith's side in the lead.

Beleck was replaced in the 67th minute by Sam Hoskins.

Right-back Hodson was an unused substitute for Uwe Rosler's Brentford, who ran out 2-0 winners at Oldham Athletic.

In League Two, Britt Assombalonga was not involved for Southend United who were beaten 3-0 at Exeter City.

Elsewhere in League Two, Adam Thompson didn't feature for Barnet as they beat Rotherham United 2-0 at the New York Stadium.

In the Ryman Premier League, Wealdstone beat Bognor Regis 1-0 with Hastings United with Aaron Tumwa playing and performing 'solidly' according to reports.

SLB is still quite young.. Maybe in time he may improve. . At the moment he is nowhere near the first team squad.....

Clearly there is some thought from the club that he will have a part to play in the future, otherwise why re-loan him? It would have been simpler to send him back to Udinese. It's good to have options & he is more Deeney than Vydra in his traits.
