Loan watch: A Pomey view of Dickinson

Carl Dickinson recently returned early from a five-match loan spell at Portsmouuth & Vital Watford have sought the opinion of a Pompey fan to review his time at Fratton Park.

The 25 year-old left-back made five appearances for the south coast outfit, booked in each, the result of which was his suspension against Leyton Orient on Tuesday night.

Guy Whittingham's side succumbed to a sixth straight defeat without Dickinson, as they went down 3-2 to Orient at Fratton Park.

Watford re-called Dickinson early from his loan spell as he was suspended for the O's tie, allowing Pompey to add another player on loan.

Vital Portsmouth editor PompeyRug summarised Dickinson's second-loan spell at Pompey:

'Dicko was Dicko like!

'I can never fault his enthusiasm and his 100% committed nature but he does not always do the basics of football that you would expect.

'Also, you can almost guarantee that he will pick up a booking every match! He got done at the weekend and you knew next time he would take it out on his man, which sure enough he did - he was instantly taken off as he would have gone I am sure.'

Rug added: 'Really appreciate Watford doing us a favour and recalling him as he could not play tonight [vs. Orient] anyway.'

Dickinson returns to Watford with Daniel Pudil very much established at the first-choice left wing-back at the club, with Ikechi Anya not far behind the Czech international.
