Internationals: Nosworthy notches

NYRON NOSWORTHY bagged his first international goal last night as Jamaica swept Antigua & Barbuda aside in their World Cup qualifier.

The Reggae Boyz ran out 4-1 winners in Kingston, Demar Phillips scoring the opener before Nosworthy doubled the lead a minute later. Dan Richards finished the job with a late brace.

The result leaves Jamaica second in the CONCACAF Group A, trailing leader group-leaders USA by three points. As runners-up in their group Jamaica progress to round four of qualification.

Matej Vydra came off the bench for the Czech Republic as they were held 0-0 by Bulgaria in the 2014 World Cup qualifier.

The Hornet`s forward came on in the 58th minute for former Norwich City forward Tomas Pekhart, however the forward was unable to help his side find a decisive goal.

The draw leaves Michal Bilek`s side third in Group B with five points from their first three matches.

Elsewhere in Europe, Lee Hodson was an unused substitute for Northern Ireland as The GAWA pulled off a shock result in Portugal.

Only a 79th minute leveller from former Spurs flop Helder Postiga spared Portuguese blushes as Northern Ireland secured a famous point at the Estadio Dragao on the night Cristiano Ronaldo won his 100th cap for his country.

Michael O`Neill`s side are fourth in Group F, having drawn two and lost one of their opening three qualifiers.

In U19 action, Tommie Hoban was rested as the Republic of Ireland played out their dead rubber with Germany.

With both sides having already qualified for the 'Elite` qualification stage, Hoban was given the night off as Ireland draw 2-2 with Germany thanks to second half goals from substitutes Sam Byrne and Ryan Coombes. Samed Yesil of Liverpool opened the scoring in the game.

Congratulations to our international 'Orns!
