David Mirfin has never looked reliable, solid or even remotely a Championship defender this season, and for a bruising Yorkshire skinhead, that just isn`t on. The former Huddersfield and Scunthorpe man is back on loan with Scunny at present and you sense that that is his level.

On paper, the signing made sense, only Aidy Mariapp and Martin Taylor were senior centre-backs, but clearly Dyche has decided the 26 year-old is not to his liking anymore, having snapped up Nyron Nosworthy in January.

A return to Scunthorpe beckons...
