What does the future hold for - Piero Mingoia?



With the season now done & dusted, it`s time for players, managers and the relevant hierarchy to sit down and discuss the future of certain players. In this series Vital Watford look at the futures of those who are out of contract, out of favour, or only on-loan at Vicarage Road.

This week it`s the turn of Piero Mingoia. Get involved by commenting below to let us know whether or not you agree or disagree.

If I was being lazy, I could just substitute Piero Mingoia`s name into the piece on Matty Whichelow, because the two players have had similar seasons by and large. However, I`m a better writer than that and actually, Mingoia had a lot less of an impact last season. Save for a peach on debut against Hartlepool United in the FA Cup, he had very little impact actually.

Nonetheless, people are still banging the drum for youth to be included ahead of journeyman players such as Mark Yeates, whether ready for the responsibility or not.

I for one do not see Mingoia having a long-term future in the Championship, he is too small, too lightweight and doesn`t affect games enough. I`m sure somewhere along the line, someone said the same about Lionel Messi, but Mingoia appears to have found his level (for now) with Hayes & Yeading.

He HAS to go out on loan to have a fighting chance of proving himself.
