What does the future hold for - Ross Jenkins?

As the season draws to a close, it`s time for players, managers and the relevant hierarchy to sit down and discuss the future of certain players. In this series Vital Watford look at the futures of those who are out of contract, out of favour, or only on-loan at Vicarage Road.

This week it`s the turn of Ross Jenkins. Get involved by commenting below to let us know whether or not you agree or disagree.

Ross Jenkins is a young man I`m very torn on. When he burst onto the scene in 2008 under Brendan Rodgers, you felt you were watching the future, the cornerstone of the side around which many great sides would be built, or at least until we sold him for a seven-figure sum.

However, Rodgers' departure and the subsequent re-surgance of John Eustace has pushed Jenkins to one side, and although he is a very able deputy to the skipper, we now have Jonathan Hogg who performs the same bruising, all-action role in the middle of the park, very much rendering Jenkins the third choice defensive midfielder.

Lob Prince Buaben and Stephen McGinn into the frame as our attack-minded midfielders and suddenly there`s five players competing for two spaces, it doesn`t go and something has to give.

I don`t want nor expect Jenkins to leave in the near future but he could almost do with being incubated elsewhere until Eustace`s legs finally give up the ghost.

Season`s loan.
