What does the future hold for - Josh Walker?

What does the future hold for - Josh Walker?
At the time of writing this I was totally unaware that Josh had agreed to join Scunthorpe on a permanent deal at the end of his current deal in WD18. Most of it however still rings true!

As the season draws to a close, it`s time for players, managers and the relevant hierarchy to sit down and discuss the future of certain players. In this series Vital Watford look at the futures of those who are out of contract, out of favour, or only on-loan at Vicarage Road.

This week it`s the turn of Josh Walker. Get involved by commenting below to let us know whether or not you agree or disagree.

There will be few of these articles that I write that are more clear cut. Josh Walker`s Vicarage Road career has been a non-starter. From day one he has not been fancied, and while last season you could argue that he was behind a number of players (John Eustace, Ross Jenkins, Stephen McGinn & Jordon Mutch), this season Eustace and Jenkins started the campaign as the only fit central midfielders. In essence, the opening was there for Walker and bar a minute at Coventry City and 64 at Bristol Rovers it has been another poor campaign for the former Middlesbrough man.

A loan spell back at Stevenage (where he failed to cut the mustard) and a more impressive period with Scunthorpe United prove that somebody clearly rates him as a footballer but ultimately his future lies away from WD18.

A free transfer move to the Iron fell through in January when FIFA intervened (probably the only time he`ll crop up on Sepp`s radar!) and the willingness to let him move on for nothing indicates that the same will surely be done this summer.

Release him when his contract expires
