'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Watford loan round-up

There were only four Hornets in action for their loan clubs this weekend, with Piero Mingoia making his league debut for Hayes & Yeading.

The Italian-born attacking midfielder came off the bench for Nas Bashir's side with seven minutes to go, but was unable to help his new side find a win.

Hayes & Yeading were held 0-0 at home by mid-table Telford, leaving Hayes in 21st, a point from Blue Square Premier safety.

In the Football League, Scunthorpe United pair Josh Walker and David Mirfin both started for Alan Knill's side who were held to a goalless draw at home to Notts County.

Walker came off with 17 minutes to play, replaced by midfielder Michael O'Connor.

Also in League One, Colchester United forward Gavin Massey got 85 minutes under his belt as he started the U's 1-1 draw with Carlisle United.

Martin Rowlands got the Essex side's goal before James Berett levelled for the Cumbrians.

Brentford defender Adam Thompson played all but 12 minutes for the Bees in their 1-0 defeat by Bournemouth on Wednesday but failed to feature on Saturday.

Goalkeepers Jonathan Bond & Rene Gilmartin failed to represent their respective sides, Bury & Crawley with Trevor Carson and Michael Kuipers blocking their route to the gloves.

Finally, in the Conference, Chez Isaac failed to feature for Tamworth.
