WFC Loan round-up



It was a busy weekend for Watford's loanees with six featuring for their loan clubs.

Goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin made his debut for Crawley Town
in a 2-0 defeat by Premier League Stoke City in the F.A Cup on Sunday.

Despite playing for 73 minutes with 10-men, Tony Pulis' side reached the quarter-finals thanks to goals from Jonathan Walters and Peter Crouch.

Scunthorpe United pair David Mirfin and Josh Walker both featured for the Iron in their 3-1 win at Leyton Orient.

Walker bagged his side's first goal in the 61st minute to cancel out Jonathan Tehoue's opener before Andy Barcham and Jon Parkin secured the win.

Mirfin also made his second appearance for the Lincolnshire-based outfit.

Wycombe attacker Matt Whichelow made his fourth start for the Chairboys in a 2-0 defeat by Walsall.

Also in League One isBrentford defender Adam Thompson, however the Northern Irish international was not in action for Uwe Rosler's side.

In the Blue Square Premier, Tamworth midfielder Chez Isaac made his seventh appearance from the Lambs who lost 3-0 at Luton Town.

Isaac has tasted victory just once during his loan spell.

In midweek Braintree Town attacker Britt Assombalonga had an eventful debut, scoring and getting sent off in a 3-3 draw with Lincoln.

Assombalonga has recently returned from a loan spell at Wealdstone and was making his debut for the Essex-based oufit.
