2011/12 Season Preview: Peterborough United

VitalWatford cast an eye over Fergie Jnr. and co. down at London Road...

Gaffer: Sir Alex Ferguson Jnr, sorry - Darren.

Now in his second spell at London Road after a dreadful stint in charge of Preston North End which eventually saw the Lilywhites relegated miserably.

Position 10/11: 4th in League One.

In:Scott Wooten, Ryan Tunnicliffe (Both Manchester United, season-long loan), Nicky Ajose (Manchester United, (300k), Craig Alcock (Yeovil Town, undisc.), Paul Jones (Exeter City, undsic.) and Joe Day (Rushden & Diamonds, undisc.).

Out: Seth Nana Ofori Twumasi, Aaron Davies, Dominic Green, Rene Howe (All Released), Craig Mackail-Smith (Brighton & H.A, £2.5m), Charlie Lee (Gillingham, undisc.) and Chris Whelpdale (Gillingham, undisc.).

Star Man: Winger-cum-striker George Boyd is the last of the Posh's holy trinity left at London Road.

Despite a loan spell with Nottingham Forest the last time the Blues were in the Championship, they will lean on his ability heavily in order to stay up this season.

Best Business: The continued relationship between Manchester United and Manchester United reserves that has seen three kids join Peterborough this summer.

Prediction: Relegation candidates. It's a young, thin squad on paper and with few Championship-experienced players I predict a third straight relegation shoot-out for Fergie Jnr.

Forget the squad. As soon as you see who the manager is you know they are down!

This the kind of team we must be beating and yet last time round I don't think we faired well at home or away to them.
