'If It's Football, It's Vital'

2011/12 Season Preview: Nottingham Forest

VitalWatford have a butchers at the Tricky Trees under Steve McClaren...

Gaffer: Experienced former England, Middlesbrough, FC Twente and Wolfsburg man, Steve McClaren.

The former England and Manchester United coach will be looking to restore a reputation severely damaged during his reign as VFL Wolfsburg manager.

Position 10/11: 6th. After a slow start, then-manager Billy Davies guided his side to the Play-offs for the second consecutive season, as hoped.

In: Jonathan Greening (Fulham, 600k), Andy Reid and George Boateng (Free Transfers).

Out: Robbie Earnshaw, Kelvin Wilson, Dele Adebola, Paul McKenna, Nathan Tyson and Julian Bennett (All Released).

Star Man: Midfielder Lewis McGugan who chipped in with a career-best of 13 league goals last season.

An energetic, all-action midfielder; Forest will need to win promotion in order to see off interest from Premier League sides.

Best Business: Andy Reid has a left-foot than can 'open a can of beans', to quote Ian Holloway. The problem remains stopping him from eating said can of beans afterwords.

If fit, he's amongst the best in the division, plain and simple. A talismanic-maverick.

Prediction: Top-half. With so much change at the City Ground, it's hard to imagine Forest willbe in the Play-off chase once more.
