2011/12 Season Preview: Millwall

2011/12 Season Preview: Millwall
A cautious peer into the Lions den as the 2011/12 season draws ever closer...

Gaffer: Hornet's favourite, Kenny Jackett who continued his impressive job in south London by guiding the Lions to a top-half finish last term.

Position 10/11: 9th. A pleasing finish to Millwall's first season back in the second-tier.

In: Therry Racon, Darius Henderson and Jordan Stewart (All Free Transfers).

Out: John Sullivan, Ashley Grimes, Neil Harris (Relased), Steve Morison (Norwich City, undisc.), Theo Robinson (Derby County, undisc.) and Marc Laird (Leyton Orient, unisc.).

Star Player: Wideman James Henry took the the Championship like a duck to water last season having previously impressed in League One.

The former Reading youngster initially arrrived on loan at the Den before arriving permanently last summer.

Best Business: Darius Henderson on a free transfer looks shrewd. Beset by injuries last term, the big striker is a proven Championship scorer and will look to replace top-scorer Steve Morison.

Predicition: Due to the improved quality of the league, Jackett's men will do well to finish in the top half next season but should be around the mid-table mark.

I thought Theo had the potential to be a top player, he really has wasted the last few years.

He didn't do terribly at Huddersfield but he made a bad move to Millwall afterwords.
29/07/2011 17:41:00
Kenny should be our number one... He would be the best signing the new chairman could make...
01/08/2011 05:32:00
Not convinced by Dyche then?
01/08/2011 12:32:00
I think if the choice was Jacket or Dyche then for me Jacket would win ever time.. He lives in Watford still I think & has friends who follow the Hornets too... Plus I think he still has a soft spot for us as we do for him... I think he know what this club means & for me he is in the same mold as GT... I think so anyway... Maybe not in tactics but in the way he would run the club & not put up with any rubbish... I think Kenny has what we need right now...
02/08/2011 20:20:00
Do you not remember his first stint as manager? Awful! The thugs that he had playing against us at the Vic? Kicking lumps out of our players? Soft spot! While Dyche has a lot to prove, certainly bringing jacket back would be a step backwards
02/08/2011 22:20:00
Even if dyche does ok he'll only sod off like Malky when someone takes a fancy... What we need is a long term appointment.. Someone with real ties to this club.. Not just a passing one...
03/08/2011 09:07:00
Ok, would you say that GT has a tie to this club? Did he not go to villa after 11 years as our manager? If some one wanted to offer you a job with more money, better prospects would you not want to go? we are a small club that has a loyal following, it is envitable that players, managers who are successful will move on, it happens every day in the world in every work of life, unless you support the top teams, then loyalty is judged by silver ware and how much you can earn. If you can't head your head around these facts, then supporting wfc is only gonna onset you with depression!
03/08/2011 19:25:00
GT had his greatest moments with Watford.. He gets the point about us.. If it wasn't for GT would would prob be right about where Luton are right now.. The reason I support such a team as Watford is that you feel you can realate in some way with the players you shout on for 9 months a year.. Sometimes when you go to away grounds up & down the land you feel disconected... Watford football club needs Watford people... That doesn't mean they have to come from Watford but in my view they need to get the Watford point... GT, Mooney, Gibbs, Luther & Jacket in my view get that... Of course I don't want the Hornets to do badly.. I just think what I think...
04/08/2011 09:43:00
Not knocking what you think and your view is valid, but your negativity towards the club, because they have appointed dyche, the fact that we need 3 legged players would suggest other wise! We all want players to wear the shirt and play their hearts out. What fan in the country wouldn't? But if players want to move on to better themselves and the club profit from that, it's not that bad is it?
