2011/12 Season Preview: Hull City

A look into the Tiger's camp from a VitalWatford perspective...

Gaffer: Nigel Pearson; a man whose stock in the game is growing steadily having done good jobs at both Leicester City and Southampton as a number one.

Previously coached at Newcastle and West Brom as well as in the England youth setup.

Position 10/11: A respectable 11th. With a such a squad overhaul and financial issues a Play off place was always hope rather than expectation.

In: Paul McKenna (Nottingham Forest, free), Robbie Brady (Manchester United, loan), Peter Gulasci (Liverpool, loan) and Dele Adebola (Nottingham Forest, free).

Out: Liam Cooper (Huddersfield Town, loan) and Mark Cullen (Bury, loan).

Star Man: Forward Matty Fryatt arrived from Pearson's former club Leicester in January. With nine in his first 21 at the KC he will be looking to continue his run of form this season.

Made his name at Walsall before a long spell at the Walkers which ended when he fell out of favor with Sven Goran Eriksson, despite 51 in 137 for the Foxes.

Best Business: Irish winger Robbie Brady already looks a gem for the Tigers having signed on loan for six months from Old Trafford.

Impressed in the 3-0 pre-season mauling of Liverpool, playing a starring role for his new club.

Prediction: Probably somewhere similar to last season. At a push they could make the Play-offs, otherwise it should be top-half.

I think this lot will be quietly confident, on the road they do well and if they start scoring more consistently then they will be in the play offs for sure

Agreed. They kept clean sheets last season without ever bursting the net. Attack-minded players needed.
