'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A 'Hel' of a signing

...but not as you had hoped! The Icelandic forward is being targetted by Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, Cardiff and Charlton.

That's right, you know that your club aint signing anyone when you start reading stories about former legends being linked with moves. The Bolton striker is not wanted at the Reebok under Gary Megson after a string of injuries during his season there.

Both The Sun and The Daily Mail are reporting this story and it one wonders whether if Watford had two pennies to rub together whether they'd go for the diminutive forward.

'H' is a reverred figure in Hertfordshire so a return to WD18 whoever it may be with would bring raptuous applause...unless he scores against us...again...

I would love to see Helguson back at Watford. He is what we need. A proven goal scorer. He would as supporters give us a very BIG lift...... Simpson as a passing gift sign him and we will love you..... (1881 Forever)

I've known for ages we have no money hence I've not put up stupid articles about Franck Quedrue and all the other unrealistic 'targets'.

Hey, im not knocking you, i had to come away from the watford observer, because of the negative comments! this is a great site, for real fans, one that i enjoy reading, but like most the questions should be asked as to where has all the money gone?

Ok good. Apologies. Simpson spent the East Stand money on players/wages last season according to the W.O, presumably on 'The Duke' - great business accumens there!

17.3 million on players wages, purchase of an industrial office, back room staff, uts a dent in to 50 million, but at a glance there still should be some money left, unless its gone to the great man himself?

It was Aidy who spent the money on Ellington. Not Simpson... Aidy is in charge of buying players. like it should be. If anyone's to blame it's Aidy himself....As for Where the cash has gone Watford owed millions before now they don't owe as much.... That's got to be better than buying players who might or might not stay for two seasons then go.

If people are going to invest in us we need to be in the black... End of.

Watford have a small amount of money which to invest in players. Watford PLC has it own money that's the point...
