Simpson: 'Danny is STAYING'

Big Danny Shittu is a wanted man, and that by Graham Simpson's admission, however the 62 year-old chairman will not sell the Hornets crown jewell.

Speaking to the BBC, Simpson confirmed interest in the big Nigerian:

'We have had inquiries from Premier League clubs but no offers for Danny,' Simpson told BBC Sport.

'Danny is still with us and that's the way it is staying.'

Of late, Shittu has been linked with the world and his wife, but former club Queens Park Rangers, and Glasgow Rangers were seemingly leading the chase. But, with Q.P.R back in for Hornets target Kaspars Gorkss, Celtic are also sniffing round nine-goal Shittu.

Whether Simpson sticks to his word, remains to be seen...

Thats good news for you that *Shittu isn't leaving.

*Shittu must stay at the Hornets next season if we have any chance of doing anything. He was our best centre back last year. To score as meny goals as he did last year was top draw. Danny was for alot of games our most likely goal scorer. For a centre back that shows his class. I think Danny will give us one more year and take it from there. (1881 Forever)

Not disagreeeing that he's class, but it doesn't show his class he was our main goal threat, it just highlights our limiatation.

Sorry Guys, don't belive him! i think this is a gentle reminder to other clubs that *Shittu is very much available, but he is our prized asset and you are going to have to pay a few quid for him. i can see the writing now.... "although we did not want to sell Danny, every player has his price and so we had to sell him" call me an old cynic, hope im wrong, but on past i don't think so!
