'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Eire International to the Vic'?

Former Sunderland, Leeds and Levante left back Ian Harte is being strongly linked with a move to Watford.

News has broken recently on SkySports News and TeamTalk linking the Ireland full back with a potential move to either Watford, Leicester or Swansea. Leicester seems likely with Joe Mattock on Newcastle's rader, but would Harte want League One football?

The 30 year-old made just eight appearances for the Mackems after being re-united with former Ireland international team-mate, Roy Keane. During his season on Tyneside, the free kick expert did not figure in a single Sunderland victory.

One has to query whether we would be able to afford his wages and whether or not we would be able to satisfy both Harte and Sadler...

I never rated him at Leeds. Take away his free kicks he was a very poor defender.

We are well in to the silly season, where agents are doing their utmost to highlight that they have a player available, Harte to watford just does not make sense, when we only purchased a left back in jan. A right back, we are in dire need of, and a guy who can score goals, kevin Philips perhaps?

Kevin Phillips has stated his intentions to stay put at West Brom. Yes I agree, it's unlikely, but you've still gotta report the news. It worries me that no-one is coming or going though.

It is frustrating, but AB has played this game for the last 2 seasons! he leaves it to the last minute, don't forget malky and Carlisle didnt sign till the day before the start of the season. Weather AB does this dileberate, i do not know, but me reckons, he puts all the names in a hat and draws for them, judging by some of his signings

Yeah. Great, they signed late, and they were fantastic signings, no-one can argue that. But, everyone was new so gelling in was fine as it was done 'together'. But we have the basis of a squad, if a player arrives 24 hours before day one this time round, it would be hard to gel into a squad that has already gone through pre-season. IE Nathan Ellington!

If we don't get a class forward in we will go down!! I don't want us to, but with only three first team forwards in the ranks who is going to lead the line if henndo, kabba & priskin get sidelined. I think we may have enough in the team at the back and in midfield to survive. Who will score the goals??? (1881 forever)
