Brought in from the Academy setup in 2001 by former boss Luca Vialli, Doyley has made over 300 appearances now for the Hornets across the back four.

Granted a testimonial after 10 years of first-team service in 2012, Doyley led the side out in a pre-season friendly against Tottenham Hotspur in fron of 9000 fans at Vicarage Road.

The versatile defender, capable of playing anywhere across the back four has drawn great praise from former boss Brendan Rodgers who said the full back would one day become 'Mayor of Watford'. Former manager Ray Lewington described Doyley as the 'best one-on-one defender at the club' during his three years at the club.

Having notched up a massive 269 first team appearances for the Hornets, 'Lloydinho' grabbed his first, and only, career goal in the 3-1 demolition of QPR on December 7th 2009. Not only was it a textbook diving header, it was the goal that set Watford on their way to victory, live on Sky. Lloyd dedicated the goal to his late mother and said 'I knew it would come, I just didn't expect it to take so long.'

It's not always been easy for Doyley at the Vic', both Aidy Boothroyd and Rodgers looked set to get ride of the determined defender who has developed immeasurably during a decade in the Golden Boy's backline.

Contracted until June 30 2013
