Former Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia arrived on a free transfer on July 30 2012 after leaving Arsenal at the end of the previous season.

The Spaniard spent eight years with the Gunners but after seeing Jens Lehmann leave the club he could only hold onto the number one jersey for a couple of seasons before he was dislodged for good.

His form at Arsenal saw him linked with an England call-up under Fabio Capello under the naturalisation rule which would have seen him take English citizenship having never featured for Spain's full side.

Contracted until: June 30 2014
