Tireless central midfielder Jonathan Hogg became a Hornet on August 27 2011 when he signed from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.

The Middlesbrough-born enforcer then debuted the following day in a 2-2 draw with Birmingham City, impressing hugely with his defensive and attacking qualities.

A real box-to-box midfielder, the former Aston Villa trainee made six appearances for the Villa, taking in loan spells with Darlington and Portsmouth before ending up Vicarage Road.

Such was Hogg's commitment to the Hornet's cause, he played part of the final game of the season with a hairline fracture to his leg.

Contracted until June 30 2014.
