An exciting attacking midfielder, Matty Whichelow's progress faltered during the 2011/12 season after excelling the previous season.

Whichelow penned his first professional contract toward the back end of the 2010/11 season before making his breakthrough the following season scoring three goals in four starts.

Under Sean Dyche Whichelow found game time hard to come by and moved out on loan, first to Exeter City where he played just twice before making four appearance for Wycombe Wanderers, scoring once.

On September 17, Whichelow moved to Accrington Stanely on a three month emergency loan deal.

Contracted until June 30 2013
