After turning professional in 2008 Dale Bennett made his debut for the Hornets the same year.

Thrust into action with a start at home to Barnsley, the powerful defender was 'Man of the Match' in a 1-0 win.

Despite being a regular in the matchday squad under Malky Mackay, Bennett suffered from a change of management and the return to five substitutes in the league, making just a handful of appearances during the 2011/12 season.

Bennett subsequently spent two injury-plagued months on loan at Griffin Park with League One Brentford, the highlight of which was his winner on debut for the Bees.

Bennett spent two months on loan with Wimbledon between August 31 2012 and October 28 2012, making five appearances largely thanks to injury issues.

On November 22 the powerful defender moved out on-loan once again, linking up with League One Yeovil Town until January 2013 before injury cut his stay short.

Contracted until June 2013
