Last Minute Defeat

Watford
1 - 2
Tottenham Hotspur

Vicarage Road

28/12/15

Attendance: 20,730

Referee:

Watford's Premier League season continued with a dramatic late two-one defeat against Tottenham at Vicarage Road on Monday.

Tottenham went into an early lead when Erik Lamela finished off after Craig Cathcart had lost the ball to Dele Alli but Watford were level before half time when Odion Ighalo saw off Eric Dier to score the latest goal of his impressive season.

After having Nathan Ake, who was back in the starting XI having been forced to miss the Boxing Day meeting with parent club Chelsea, sent off for a foul on Lamela the 10-men couldn't hold on with Tottenham winning it late on through a Son Heung-Min last minute goal to take Spurs up to third.

These were the other results.

Monday 28th December 2015
Crystal Palace 0-0 Swansea
Everton 3-4 Stoke
Norwich 2-0 Aston Villa
Watford 1-2 Tottenham
West Brom 1-0 Newcastle
Arsenal 2-0 Bournemouth
Man Utd 0-0 Chelsea
West Ham 2-1 Southampton

These games are to be played.

Tuesday 29th December 2015
Leicester v Man City 19:45

Wednesday 30th December 2015
Sunderland v Liverpool 19:45

What a cracker at Goodison Park, a seven-goal thriller saw Stoke continue a good season with a four-three win with Arsenal also securing a win to recover from the Boxing Day mauling against Southampton (who then went and lost two-one at West Ham) with a win over Bournemouth at the Emirates to put them top.

The goalless draw at Old Trafford didn't really do much to improve the season for either Man United or Chelsea.

As a Spurs fan, I don't think ye were hanging on yesterday with 10 men. I have seen Watford a few times this season, and ye are the James Brown of the premier league. The hardest working team in the league. Spurs were definitely a little lucky yesterday and I thought we fought hard also. Watford are going to bully there way to many a win to the end of the season, and still have top 4 chances.

Best win of the season, last minute wins like that are what make the season. Also I'm interested to see if Vital Watford have the better old school forum format, looks like you do.
