Watford 3-4 Blackpool
For the second consecutive weekend, Watford surrendered three points at home to a team who had at one point had seemingly no way back into the game.
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory has become a nasty habit of the Hornet`s of late with Wolves coming to Vicarage Road last weekend and taking all three after Tommy Smith`s penalty miss proved costly. This weekend, the former Derby man converted his penalty to put Watford 3-2, but once again it was the route to failure as Blackpool snatched two goals.
Watford took the lead after four minutes, Will Hoskins benefiting from Grzegorz Rasiak`s beautiful backheel which set the former Miller free to fire the Hornets ahead clinically. Blackpool were level just fourteen minutes later though, Keith Southern blasting home from a similar position to where David Jones struck with his left foot a week ago.
Rasiak`s contribution continued as he nodded Watford into the lead from a Tommy Smith free kick on the wide right.
Blackpool were back level on 66 but not before Smith had rolled a penalty calmly into the bottom right-hand corner. A sublime-cum-ridiculous chip from Ben Burgess that strangely caught Richard Lee out nestled in the top corner to leave the sides just a goal apart before Gary-Taylor Fletcher levelled things up following a penalty area scramble.
Glasgow Rangers loanee Alan Gow then settled the contest in the second of three injury time minutes, blasting home to beat Lee all ends up.
