Millwall Preview - Home, March 5th

Watford play host to Millwall this Saturday, the South Londoners of course hammered at their own place 6-1 back in the heady days of September.

A lot has changed this then it's the Lions who have greater aspirations of reaching the Championship Play-Offs now, seated in 11th, still seven points outside the top six.

Kenny Jackett on his Watford return

'If we are going to start looking up the table rather than down, then this is a big week for us with games against Watford, QPR and Burnley.

'Yes, I am looking forward to going back to Watford as a manager, but this is a big game and my main focus is on Millwall, and Millwall winning.

'We need seven points out of nine from our next three games and we do need a sprint finish if we are going to start looking at the top end of the table.

With 12 games of the season left we are looking to put a big run together. If you look at where Blackpool were this time last year, they had a great last dozen games and ended up in the Play-Offs.'

Jackett was speaking to the Millwall official site.

Watford Team News:

Stephen McGinn is course sidelined for 'nine to 12 months' so his absence frees up one midfield berth. The suspension of skipper John Eustace also frees up the holding midfield position.

The good news is that Will Buckley should be back after being fit enough for the bench at Doncaster, no promises though.

With Eustace and McGinn out it should be Jenkins and two from Buckley, Matty Whichelow and Danny Drinkwater making up the advanced midfield trio.

Lloyd Doyley is still out so Adam Thompson continues at right full-back.

Likely Line-up:

Loach; Thompson, Mariappa (c), Taylor, Hodson; Jenkins; Cowie, Drinkwater, Buckley; Weimann and Graham.

Player to watch: Adam Thompson

Despite only having made a handful of career appearances the Northern Ireland cap has impressed hugely in recent weeks after a ropey start.

Thompson only turned professional this season and debuted in Carling Cup Second Round defeat by Notts County.

He scored his first goal in the 2-2 home draw with Preston North End recently.

Millwall Team News:

Left-back Tony Craig is fit once more whilst January signings Josh McQuoid and Martin Rowlands could be fit for debut's.

Former 'Orn Jack Smith, midfielder Shaun Batt and midfielder Jimmy Abdou are all sidelined.

Line-up Vs. Nottingham Forest

Forde; Mkandawire, Purse, Robinson (c), Craig; Henry, Trotter, Dunne, Bouazza; Harris and Morison.

Player to watch: Steve Morison

The club's 13-goal top-scorer has earnt international honours for Wales this season after taking to the Championship impressively.

Linked with a move to a Premier League club in January, with Fulham apparently leading the chase, Morison has committed his future to the Lion signing a new contract.

Close in the league and both teams fairly inconsistent. I reckon this will be tight however we don't draw many games - a flip of a coin and a goal's difference either way I think.

Not full of hope, but hey, they may well gell together and put in a performance, no rain on the pitch this week, may have given it a chance to become more sturdy. Hard game, happy to share the spoils..
