Watford vs. Wolves

Wolves - Home, Oct 25th

High-fyers Wolverhampton Wanderers visit Vicarage Road on Saturday looking to bounce back after a midweek thrashing.

Watford on the other hand, will be looking to build on a point earnt at home to Cardiff on Tuesday.

Predicted Line-ups:

Watford
4-3-2-1
Lee
Doyley Bromby Mariappa Sadler
O'Toole Eustace Harley
Smith McAnuff
Hoskins

Wolves
Ikeme
Foley Collins Shackell S.Ward
C.Edwards Jones Henry (c) Kightly
Ebanks-Blake Iwelumno

Watford Team News:

Lee Williamson was subbed in midweek with a small hamstring tear so is likely to miss out. O'Toole will deputise.

Aidy Mariappa could well be replaced by the fit-again Doyley at right back, but move to centre back for Darren Ward whose loan deal prevents him playing. That is unless Jay DeMerit makes a recovery to feature at centre back. Tamas Priskin's three match ban begins.

Player to watch: Will Hoskins

Fourth goal of the season in midweek, the willing runner will have to put another shift in this weekend with Priskin out.

Wolves Team News:

Richard Stearman is out definitly so new-boy Jason Shackell will start. Loanee Carlos Edwards will get the nod on the right, forcing Kightly to the left.

Finally, winger-cum-forward Stephen Ward should hold-down left back ahead of Elokobi and Gray.

Carl Ikeme should continue in goal at the expense of Wayne Hennessey and Matt Murray, the latter injured once again.

Player to watch: Michael Kightly

Former Grays Athletic winger released by Spurs as a kid is on the verge on the Premiership again, with or without Wolves. A flying, two-footed winger with an eye for goal, Kightly has U21 recognition too.

Did you know?

Watford have only lost once to Wolves in 7 attempts. Home and away.

Match Prediction:

Watford 0-2 Wolves Could well be more, but I don't see Watford having anywhere near enough to deal with Mick McCarthy's men.

Next Fixture:

PNE - Watford [Tue 28th OCT]

Um, Darren Ward is unavailable for selection - his loan contract says he can't play against his employees!!! Big loss
DrWatford
Is that so? I thought it was only Prem. League deals that stipulated this?!
wfc123
Nope sadly not - its the same reason Rasiak couldn't feature at St Mary's or why Kabba won't play next Saturday. I do however believe it is an agreement between the clubs as Ellington can play against us for Derby (thankfully)
DrWatford
Hahaah. Rather he was up front than Villa or Sterjovski!

On current form I think we are capable of scoring against them and should get at least a scoring draw if our defence performs well.
