Vicarage Road

04.09.08

Preston - Home, Oct12th

Watford's winless September is now behind them, and with two more new additions, an ever-more new-look Watford take on a Preston side, flying high.

Predicted Line-ups:

Watford
Lee; Mariappa, Bromby, Ward, Sadler; Williamson, Eustace, Harley; O'Toole; Smith and Hoskins.

PNE
Lonergan; St Ledger, Mawene, Davidson, McEveley; Whaley, McKenna (c), Nicholson, Wallace; Parkin and Elliot.

Watford Team News:

Watford welcome back Mat Sadler from injury which allows Jon Harly into midfield whilst Darren Ward deputises for an injured Jay DeMerit. Mark Tyler also makes his home debut but more than likely on the bench.

Player to watch: Will Hoskins

Finally grabbed his first Hornets goal in the Carling Cup and now has his first two league goals. Likely to lead the line again with the aid of super Tommy Smith.

Preston North End Team News:

Michael Hart and Neal Trotman are both sidelined indefinitely whilt Richard Chaplow is likely to sit out the game before returing soon.

Player to watch: Jon Parkin

'The Beast' has an excellent Championship record and has joined the Lilywhites on-loan from Stoke City after a year at the Potteries. Powerful, direct and a lethal finisher, Parkin will be a hanful as always.

Statistics:

Did you know? Richard Lee's 100th Watford appearance comes against the team he made his first.

Previous Hornet's manager Ray Lewington's last game was a 2-0 reverse at home to PNE in 2005.

Match Prediction:

Watford 0-0 Preston Can't see either side breaking the other down, yet in the back ofmy negative mind, PNE are more likely.

Next Fixture:

Soton [Away] October18th
