Burnley vs. Watford

Burnley Away, Sept 30th

After just one win in the last six league games, Watford bid to end September with their first win since of the month at Burnley.

The Clarets have had a pretty rotten time of it too after a Summer in which they strengthened heavily, yet so far, to little avail.

Predicted Line-ups:

Burnley
(442)
Jensen
Duff Carlisle Caldwell Jordan
Alexander Gudjonsson Eagles Elliot
Paterson Thompson

Watford
(4321)
Lee
Mariappa Sodje Bromby Sadler
Williamson Eustace O'Toole
Smith Ainsworth
Hoskins

Burnley Team News:

Owen Coyle's only problems come in his choice for selection after the 3-1 victory over rivals Preston. Chris Eagles started on the bench but might be given a start after his 90th minute goal.

Player to watch: Graham Alexander

Ex-Scummer has been on a scoring run of late and the former Preston skipper is rock-solid at right back.

A set peice specialist, Alexander notched two at Forest a few weeks back.

Watford Team News:

Watford's injury worries grow by the game. Saturday saw Scott Loach [Torn Abdominal Muscles] join fellow stopper Mart Poom on the sidelines.

Mat Sadler and Liam Henderson were back on the bench, as was Jobi McAnuff, so some relief for Aidy Boothoryd.

Player to watch: John-Joe O'Toole

Seems to be the only player capable of netting for Watford with five in his last six.

The Eire U21 cap broke onto the scene last season and since then his exuberrance and energy have seen him threaten established pro's at the 'Vic.

Match Facts & Stats:

Did you know? Aidy Boothroyd's first game for Watford came at Burnley whilst he also recorded his first home win against the Clarets in 2005.

Match Prediction:

Burnley 1-2 Watford As ever, a low scorer with two dissapointing teams seperated by one goal.

Next Fixture:

Watford - Preston...Saturday Oct 4th
