In Ipswich, Watford welcome the sort of side who play flowing football, briefly threaten the top dogs and then, through injury, suspension or many other means fall away. The Arsenal of the Championship if you will, full of exciting young players, not guided by the sauve of Arsene Wengar, but the rough managerial diamond that is Jim Magilton. Except Doncaster fans are shouting 'we're the Arsenal of the Championship'. So, with the pressure off, what can Ipswich produce?
Will the reach the Premier League for the second time since the turn of the Millenium, or will they end up 'also rans' in the Premier League chase?
Watford
Poom; Doyley, Bromby, DeMerit (c), Sadler; Williamson, Eustace, Harley; Smith, Priskin and McAnuff.
Ipswich Town
Wright
Volz McAuley Bruce Thatcher
Norris Campo Garvan Walters
Haynes Lisbie
Grzgorz Rasiak's debut ended up in a broken shoulder and despite playing in the defeat to Notts Forest, the bean-Pole will be out for up to six weeks.
Will Hoskins could deputise pushing Tommy Smith wide of the the midfield or of the top trio, if, Watford play 4-3-3
Richard Lee could replace Mart Poom after his reserve outing. McAnuff, Smith and Harley are expected to shake off knocks in time.
In red hot form with three goals already, the tricky winger, returning to the forward line after last seasons wing position was named in 'Team of the Week' for last week.
Moritz Volz has signed on loan for the season in time to feature for Ipswich and will go head-to-head with David Wright for the right-back slot.
Alan Lee may not start despite his Carling Cup goal with Danny Haynes and Kevin Lisbie preferred possibly.
Similar to Tommy Smith in many ways, Haynes has pace, plenty of tricks and an eye for goals. Indeed he notched twice against Leyton Orient earlier this month.
Lee Probert [Gloucestershire]
Watford 1-0 Ipswich Town Having not seen Watford play this term, I will pluck for us because of Ipswich's inconsistency thus far.
