'Whel' and dealing closes

Watford have missed out on a transfer target, but where`s the surprise in that? The real surprise is that despite missing out on Glenn Whelan, Sir Aidy evidently had someone else in line as John Eustace joined Watford.

Although Whelan offers more of an attacking front, the Irishman cost twice as much as 250k Potters skipper Eustace who moved early yesterday evening. Ironically, Whelan, who is out of contract at the end of the season, moved to the Britannia - replacing Eustace.

On the subject of new boys, the new trio of Collins John, Leigh Bromby and John Eustace have been assigned squad number 9,16 and 8 respectively.

Finally, in an 'all other news` style, VitalWatford Towers would like to apologise for the inaccuracies regarding Jobi McAnuff and Lee Williamson, neither of whom are suspended tomorrow, rather next Saturday. He blew hot and cold I thought; nosebleed when he got into Wolves' half, but broke up the play quite well, not sure about passing/distribution. I hope he comes good...looked good for you Potters.
