'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'Sheff' approach cooks up a storm.

Watford have been knocked back in their enquires about taking Birmingham`s Gary McSheffrey on loan in January, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The Hornets, along with Coventry have been eyeing up the Blue`s left sided attackerbut saw a loan move enquiry rebuffed by Alex McGleish.

The arrival of James McFadden and Mauro Zarate and the form of Olivier Kapo has pushed McSheffrey down the first team ranks at St Andrews and was left out of the matchday 16 for the first time this season at Sunderland - despite making 23 appearances this season.

But any chance that the former Luton loanne would drop down to join a Championship side were put to bed very quickly by McGleish He told the Birmingham Mail "Let me nail that one : Gary McSheffrey is staying. We have had inquiries about him but we are not prepared to do anything".

The Blues gaffer added "..if anyone was seriously thinking about Gary, then they would have to be talking a serious, big money offer anyway… There is no chance he will be leaving."

Hmmm. There's still time.
