'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'Expect a different Watford' - Mick

Wolves boss Mick McCarthey may have seen his boys give Watford a good old fashioned lesson in counter attacking football during their surprise 4-1 cup rout but reckons the impressive scoreline will have no bearing on next Saturday`s league clash.

The Molineux maestro was quick to suggest Watford will be a far tougher nut to crack in the race for promotion insisting "That wasn`t their strongest side. I think we will see a different Watford side next weekend when we have three league points at stake…But we can only play what`s put in front of us"

Watford made 5 changes to their usual starting 11 - with a handful of fringe players getting a runout (including coach Malky Mackay) - in an attempt not "to risk players for the league campaign" as Aidy Boothroyd put promotion ahead of cup success.

But the Watford manager was quick to defend his actions stating "I made changes today - we had a few niggles, a few bumps and bruises…That`s not denigrating the FA Cup!"
