Kalou on song to bring Shittu down

Chelsea`s Salomon Kalou was the toast of VitalWatford Towers tonight [Monday] after he conjured up a magical solo effort to inflict an opening group match defeat on Nigeria at the African Nations Cup …. and put some life into our 'Bring Shittu Back Early` campaign!

The Ivory Coast forward upstaged club teammate Didier Drogba with a stunning strike as the Elephants saw off the Super Eagles by 1-0 in a clash dubbed the 'Final Before the Final` in Ghana.

Watford centre half Danny Shittu made the starting 11 for Berti Vogts` Nigeria but, despite a couple of towering headers on goal and the odd hefty tackle to break up play, had little influence in the Super Eagles defeat!

So VitalWatford's 'Bring Shittu Back Early` campaign is off to a flyer as Nigeria now face an uphill battle to make it out of the group stages - and boy do the Watford boys need their man mountain centre half back as soon as possible after loanee Calum Davenport broke his neck in Saturday`s 1-1 draw with Charlton.

Nigeria still have to face Mali and Benin in the Group of Death but hey, things are looking up to have Shittu reinstated at Vicarage Road 3 weeks early!

Good work Kalou. We salute you.
