'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Aidy still hot to trot on John

Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd remains absolutely insistent that Collins John would be a great addition to his squad, despite taking plenty of flack from fans over his relentless pursuit of the Dutchman.

Whatever the outcome of the 'snags` in Marlon King`s transfer to Fulham, Boothroyd remains hot on the heels of the Cottagers John, who is lined up as a makeweight in the £5m deal.

The Watford gaffer told the official club site "I think he [John] could be terrific for Watford, because potentially he can be a top player, that's why I went for him last January… He's unbelievably quick and has a good goal scoring record, and I think he could thrive here".

And it seems John`s reluctant to move to Vicarage Road, after turning down approaches from the club last January with a big fat resounding "No", has made Boothroyd even keener to get his hands on the former FC Twente striker with 2 Dutch caps to his name.

Aidy added'Sometimes, when someone turns you down you want them even more."

Here at VitalWatford Towers, we`re all for the 'treat them mean, keep them keen` policy but fans don`t want John to sign up and it seems the player isn`t overly fussed either…

So why not leave it then Aidy?
