It seems Watford fans aren`t the only ones feeling sick with the news of Marlon King`s £5m switch to Fulham this morning… Die-hard Craven Cottagers are disappointed with his capture too!
A quick look around football forums shows that 'Relegation Roy` Hodgson may have got his man but avid Fulham fanatics aren`t impressed and reckon it shows a lack of ambition at the club…
Some even suggested that the capture of King hints that Hodgson is already preparing for life in the Championship next season….
On the 606 message board one fan wrote "This is one of the lowest points of the season with this signing. I would rather have kept the £5million to float our finances for next year instead of signing King…Awful signing"
Whilst another added "I feel disappointed with Hodgson, ashamed and gutted by this news [King`s signing]. A simply dreadful signing considering his current form, the fee and John going there".
It seems many of the Craven Cottagers reckon the £5m price tag is a 'rip off' and King won`t add anything to their squad that they don`t already get…They have been screaming out for a tall target man good in the air or a big man to muscle up against Premiership centre halves…and Marlon isn`t that type of player!
One fan even commented that Relegation Roy should have looked to Watford battering ram Darius Henderson, rather than King, insisting "I would have given them Bouazza back for Henderson and I`d much rather CJ [Collins John] stay than sign King."
Not a great start then to a career at the Cottage for King, who has been worshipped at Vicarage Road for 3 seasons.
