'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Harford's a Hatter

I'm sure all readers of VitalWatford are sick of the Luton news coming out of VitalTowers at the moment, but it is of relevance as they are OUR rivals.

Today, gaffer Kevin Blackwell has been sacked by the clubs administrators with immediate effect.

Blackwell had announced his decision to resign from Luton on February 9th, but the administrators have stepped in and sacked him a month before his arranged departure.

The former Leeds gaffer has every reason to feel hard done by having taken Luton through one of the most difficult periods in their history, dealt with having players sold above him and taken them to an FA Cup replay agaist Liverpool.

This is as much an article about Blackwell and Luton as it is a dig at the Football Association. How can they allow administrators to come in and tear the heart of what is a big club? How can they bring themselves to dock 10 points from clubs in administration when this is what happens to a club subjected to this punishment?

With Luton selling or having players sold above the manager everyday, how can they hope to attract players and compete, surely they will be in League Two next season.

The F.A needs to have a long hard look at the running of clubs in trouble and preventing others from getting in a similar mess.

On the bright side, Nick Owen's 'Luton Town F.C 2020' consortium has been given preferred bidder status and should take over soon.

Normal service will be resumed at Vital soon as we get back to Luton bashing, promise!

Shocking decision by Administrators, football shouldn't be a business as Sir Stanley Rous once said...he is turning in his grave no doubt...
