King bid increased

King bid increased

New Fulham boss Roy 'Relegation' Hodgson is that desperate to bring Watford's Marlon King to Craven Cottage and last night allegedly increased his offer for the former Forest striker.

His initial offer of £4million was rejected by the Hornets boards who claimed they 'did not need or want to sell' their prized asset.

However, in a piece in Friday's Watford Observer - Hertfordshire's finest local rag - Aidy Boothroyd confirmed that if Fulham could match his valuation of King Marlon, and chuck in a player or two, he'd be tempted.

Sky Sports News broke the news last night that the Cottagers have increased their offer to £4.5million and offered an unnamed player to boot.

If Dutch strikerCollins John, currently on-loan at Leicester, was that 'unnamed' player, then the Watford gaffer may well be very tempted to consider the deal, but the Dutchman refused to consider a paycut and a divisional drop last season so why would Aidy want a player who's heart wasn't in it?

We don't want Collins John..a deal of £5m + Lee Cook + Shefki Kuqi would be of interest mind.

Why not? I'd rather Collins than Kuqi...or Adam Johnson instead of Lee Cook. Either way, the balls in our court and I'd rather player + cash for King than straight cash.
