Hornets take look at Boro's Gook

Korean site Sports World are reporting that Watford and Charlton are looking to scrap it out for Middlesbrough striker Lee-Dong Gook in the transfer window.

The former 47-goal K-League Pohang Steelers striker has yet to net a Premier League goal and could soon become surplus to requirement at the Riverside as gaffer Gareth Southgate looks for a frontman to fire up Boro`s fight against relegation.

Sports World`s Asian editor John Duerden said of the exiled South Korean international striker "Watford were keen on the 28 year-old before he made his move to Teesside but face stiff competition from Charlton."

And it`s believed Lee-Dong Gook would consider dropping down a division to further his career if sides match the expected £1.2m asking price for the player.
