Watford face their Deepdale demons

Championship promotion chasers Watford head to Preston [on Saturday] to face up to their Deepdale demons despite exorcising their home win hoodoo with victory over Palace in the FA-Cup.

The Hornets have not beaten the lilywhites in their backyard since winning 2-1 in December 1979 - some 29 years ago. And their only other win was in the FA Cup way back in the the days of Tom Finney.

What`s more the Glory Hornet boys have a better away record at Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham than against North End where they`ve picked up only 9 league points in their entire history.

Vicarage Road supreme Aidy Boothroyd reckons his side "got the monkey off their backs" after 8 winless games at home but he`d be well recommended to check the team bus for apes as his side head to the North West…

Even if Preston have lost the last 3 league games on home soil!
