Calum : best option for Watford?
Oh how we do love a spot of lazy journalism here at VitalWatford! So we just had to let you know that the dog-earred hacks at the Daily Mail are the first this transfer window to hint that Watford are about to make a bid for centre back Calum Davenport, now at West Ham.
The Hornets have been linked with the former Coventry and Tottenham Hotspur defender now for the last 5 transfer windows without any signs of the ex England U21 star signing on the dotted line.
The 25 year old was even considered a makeweight in a proposed deal that was meant to see Ashley Young move to White Hart Lane last January but the offer fell through.
Boothroyd may well remain a big fan of the even bigger 6ft4 Bedford born stopper but Davenport has not featured for the Hammers first team this season despite shelling out £3m for his services and he has yet to find his Coventry form even out on loan at Norwich or Southampton.
