Brum interest for 'silly money' King
New Birmingham boss Alex McLeish is the latest in a long line of top flight gaffers jumping in with both feet onto the runaway bandwagon that is the Marlon King 'will he, won`t he` transfer saga.
Watford`s 11-goal hitman has an army of admirers longer than that of Kelly Brook with Reading, Fulham, Derby, Wigan and now Birmingham keen on the King but Hornets gaffer, Aidy Boothroyd, reckons it`s gonna take megabucks to prize him away.
The enigmatic Vicarage Road supremo said of in-demand striker "It would take an exceptional offer of silly money for us [Watford] even to consider letting Marlon go. He is an important part of our plans for the future".
Boothroyd made his statement of intent to keep King at the Championship leaders by playing him in the 3rd round FA Cup win v Crystal Palace thus cup-tying him for potential suiters.
Then again, that won`t bother Birmingham too much now will it?
