Ainsworth Joins

Ainsworth Joins

After four days of inactivity, Watford have made their first January purchase.

Young wideman Lionel Ainsworth has joined from Hereford having impressed during his loan spell. The former Ram has put pen-to-paper on a two and a half year contract at Vicarage Road.

A fee is yet to be mentioned by the club.

Despite only making one start since joining on-loan in late Novemeber, Ainsworth caught the eye with a superb full debut against Plymouth Argyle.

With wide left one of the positions Aidy wanted to add coming into January, I think we can tick that box, also, I think we've seen the end of Anthony McNamee.

Ainsworth is inelligable for today's cup game having knocked Leeds United out in an earlier round. Incidentally, this is the first time EVER Leeds United have not made the third round.

Good luck to Lionel in his Watford career!
