Boothroyd: I'd sign Pele if I could

Aidy Boothroyd reckons it`s so important for Watford to beat Crystal Palace [and the Vicarage Road hoodoo] in today`s FA Cup tie at Vicarage Road that he`d sign the 'world`s greatest ever player` to make it happen if he could.

Boothroyd told 3 Counties radio "If I could go out and get Pele in for this one then I would. We need to win this one at home and yes, we`ll be going full strength".

Here at VitalWatford Towers we can`t quite get their head around where the 67- year old Brazilian ace, with 1,000 goals to his name, would feature in Aidy`s current Watford squad. We much rather see the gaffer opt for Eusebio to play alongside Hendo with Johan Cruyff down the wing and Michel Platini pulling the strings in midfield.

Whatever next? An illegal tapped-up approach for Bobby Moore - on loan - to secure up the backline when Danny Shittu leaves for Ghana?

Fantasy football at it`s very best.
