Hodg hot on the trail of King Marlon

Rumours aplenty today [Thurs] that new Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is closing in on the signing of Watford hitman Marlon King for a fee of around £5m, despite Aidy Boothroyd`s insistence that his striker is 'not for sale`!

The new gaffer in the Craven Cottage hotseat has reportedly negotiated a £15m transfer bounty to splash out in the January sales with 11-goal King and W`Ham`s Bobby Zamora on the top of his wish list.

King Marlon has made no secret of his desire to ply his trade in the top flight but the VitalWatford boys would have to seriously question his logic in making a switch to a team who look like falling through the Premiership trapdoor whilst the Hornets are riding high!

Those redtop scallywag hacks down at The Sun though have been meddling again though, suggesting that King has already told his Watford teammates that he`s off in this transfer window.

Would be a major blow for your promotion hopes if you lose him.

Um - not convinced...King has looked a tad lethargic in the last few weeks and maybe his head is already in the Premiership. £5m is a good price for the striker and would mean we could afford a decent replacement.

Yeah if the money you receive is invested wisely in another striker you should be fine... :)

Say, Jason Roberts?

£4M+ for Roberts...I have a nasty feeling it will be the same old subjects of Collins John or DJ Campbell.
